ARTIE (Achieving results through indigenous education) is an attendance-based program that the great ARTIE BEETSON founded. It's programmed to engage indigenous kids to come to school EVERY DAY.
Attendance, behaviour and effort are all part of the data we capture for the kids that are on an ARTIE goals, to receive their rewards or prizes.
An Artie goal can be from 1-10 weeks depending on the student's attendance or behaviour.
We encourage all indigenous kids to be put on an Artie goal to improve their attendance and behaviour. If the students apply themselves and reach their individual goal, they are rewarded with a prize they have selected themselves from the ARTIE treasures.
Students that are consistently coming to school with an attendance percentage over 88% are rewarded at the end of the term with prizes. The prizes are from our team in Brisbane that come into our school once every term to run their season launches.
Every term there are different prizes for the students over 88%. Prizes have included Hoodies, ARTIE t-shirts etc. This term is an ARTIE hooded towel for P-2 and an excursion for year 3-6!
