Attendance is like a rollercoaster, some days it's up and some days it's down.  Whatever the trend, we are constantly working to improve and grow in attendance. In order for students to learn at school, they need to show up! In fact, it is illegal for school-aged child not to attend school. Even more troubling though, is the learning a child will miss if they do not attend school. If your child misses as little as eight days each term, by the end of primary school they will have missed over a year of learning.

Acceptable Reasons to be away from School:

  • Illness
  • Essential Appointment
  • Injury
  • Infectious Disease
  • Bereavement/Sorry Days
  • Principal Approved Absence

Unacceptable Reasons to be away from School:

  • Birthdays, Shopping Trips
  • Visiting Relatives
  • Helping Parents at home
  • Weather (i.e. too hot, too cold, raining)
  • Holidays (unless prior approval granted)

The following classes who have reached 100% within the last 2 weeks are:

2B - 2C - 3B - 3L - 4M - 4D - 5B

Almost every single class has had at least one 95% attendance day this part fortnight.

These are days to celebrate and be proud that our students and families are here and ready to learn.
